Root'd in the 510

The McBride Company is at the forefront of contemporary dispensary design, and we've taken on numerous cannabis-centric projects that push our creativity into the clouds to develop spaces that are truly unique. Among these is Root'd in the 510, a dispensary and soon-to-be-open consumption lounge located in Oakland, CA.

Known for its progressivism, diversity, and sly sense of coolness, the city of Oakland has served as a hub for some of the most contentious social movements of our time, nurturing numerous clubs and social justice groups. This vibrant community loves gathering spaces, celebrations, and emerging cultures – all of which inspired Root'd, the area's first entertainment-driven consumption lounge and retail destination.

The aesthetic of Root'd was designed to capture Oakland's spirit, imagination, and history, featuring artwork, murals, and timeless interior design that reflects the surrounding community. Integrated into this aesthetic are nods to its namesake in which "Root'd" is taken literally by utilizing actual roots within the architecture and product displays.

Soon to accompany the unique cannabis retail space is an on-site consumption lounge, opening at a later date. The lounge will feature numerous experiential spaces and host musical performances, private parties, and live events. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Root'd, and we are honored to be a part of their beginning.
