In partnership with our client Margaritaville, The McBride Company has received a 2017 Travel Weekly Magellan Award. Our work on the lobby design at the Hollywood Beach Resort received a Gold Award – the top honor – in the Best Upscale (Four Star) Lobby/Common Space Design category.

As the lead interior designer of the resort, The McBride Company was commissioned to design the lobby, eight food and beverage venues – including the new upscale restaurant JWB Prime Steak and Seafood – a full-service spa, the water recreation area, and state-of-the-art function space.

Every detail of the lobby space exudes a casual-luxe feel. Since opening in November 2015, the resort has received accolades for its flawless design and execution, including the prestigious AAA Four Diamond rating and features in top trade and consumer outlets such as Travel Weekly, Hotel Business Design, Forbes, Travel + Leisure, Lodging Magazine and more.

Together, the teams conceptualized a space to bring the Margaritaville brand into its new dawn, demonstrating that Margaritaville today is sophisticated, while still a lot of fun. The centerpiece of the property is its 5,300-square-foot lobby, which sets the tone for guests as they arrive at Destination Paradise and escape into a new category of casual luxury.  Offering a laid-back tropical environment, the lobby captures the essence of the brand in a manner that appeals to guests seeking four-star-level comfort, service and atmosphere.

Immediately upon their first step onto the coral rock flooring – accented by wood beams of pecky cypress overhead and lush South Florida vegetation – guests are transported into a Margaritaville state-of-mind. Every feature of the lobby works together to craft a well-appointed Margaritaville escape – all inspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett.
