Luxury Meets LOL at Nick Resorts
Step into the Nickelodeon Riviera Maya resort, an all-inclusive Caribbean escape where guests can get pampered one minute and Slimed the next. In collaboration with the Nickelodeon team and the Tellez/Arqtell group, our team at The McBride Company designed this first-of-its-kind, five-star family destination dedicated to infinite play and limitless luxury.
The resort seamlessly integrates iconic Nickelodeon brands with elevated finishes in often subtle yet always playful ways, creating spaces that appeal to guests of all ages. The incorporation of artful abstractions of Nickelodeon characters into sophisticated materials and custom furniture and fixtures makes the resort feel truly luxurious.
Upon arriving at the property, guests immediately find themselves immersed in the resort's design as they drive into the grand porte-cochere, greeted by a bronze sculptural interpretation of everyone's favorite character, SpongeBob. Lining the driveway are sandstone relief columns inspired by the local Mayan culture featuring classic characters.
Guests are greeted into the luxurious and contemporary lobby, where a large golden pineapple acts as a stunning centerpiece. The space surrounding the sculpture incorporates custom furniture, luxury materials, specialty artwork featuring behind-the-scenes animation, Nickelodeon memorabilia, and props from television shows. Here they're handed the keys to one of 280 rooms, many of which enjoy astonishing views of the turquoise Mexican Caribbean Sea and private balcony infinity pools.
In addition to the 280 guestrooms, the property features three specialty suites; The Turtles Lair, complete with a private pool and turtle shell to relax in; The Pineapple Suite, inspired by all things SpongeBob and his famous pineapple-shaped home; and The Big Kahuna Suite, a mash-up of all things Nickelodeon with over-the-top design elements and bold colors that create the ultimate, immersive Nickelodeon experience.
When guests are ready for a bite to eat, they can choose from six Gourmet Inclusive restaurants. Among the options are Good Burger and Snick Lounge, leveraging classic brands and tapping into 90s nostalgia, and Le Spatula and Bikini Bottom Bar, inspired by SpongeBob and the irreverence inherent to the brand
To cool off, guests of all ages spend their stay adventuring around Aqua Nick, the resort's Mayan-inspired public attraction space. The entry to the Nickelodeon-themed water park is striking, with a massive slime-dripping blimp floating overhead. Sprawling across six acres, the park includes over 500 meters of adventure and lazy rivers, a kids club, shopping, the Nick Bistro, and a performance venue, all surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Classic Nickelodeon colors, including orange and slime green, were heavily integrated into the design, complemented by touches of white stone and gold, infused with Mayan-inspired patterns and graphics that help localize the experience.
Whether relaxing, dining, or splashing through the park, the Nickelodeon Riviera Maya offers everything a traveler wants in a relaxing, luxurious vacation but with a playful, imaginative spin; the perfect getaway and a dream come true for Nickelodeon fans of all ages.
